Cassandra Graper Emmy

For years Graper has been a integral part of the team here at Angel MedFlight. Her multifaceted skill set has contributed to the overall operations and functionality of our premier air ambulance services. Originally from the Midwest, Graper moved to Arizona and brought her invaluable talents along-with. During her time with our operations, she has utilized her background in television and news to document the stories of our patients and their families.

One such story was that of United States Army Ranger Benjamin Rye and his wife, Katie. They were heading to dinner on the dark night of August 27, 2009, when another vehicle traveling at high speed collided with theirs. Both Ben and Katie were injured in the accident, although Ben sustained a severe traumatic brain injury. Ever since awakening from a coma, Ben has fought to regain his former self through intense physical and mental rehabilitation.

Graper documented the overwhelming love and compassion present in the lives of the Rye family. No matter where treatment and rehabilitation may take them, Ben and Katie are there, hand-in-hand. It is a phenomenal documentary that brings a light to the darkness of severe traumatic brain injury.

Congratulations, Cassandra Graper, for making this Emmy-winning documentary!
